“Let me tell you about the amazing team at the LASIK office on 4013 NW Expressway in Oklahoma. From the Optometrist Dr. Walters, Ophthalmologist Dr. Annis, Daisy, Dr Annis assistant, the sweet young lady Jennifer who held my hand, and let's not forget Jordan.
I had a general idea of what to expect before my surgery, but what I didn’t anticipate was my claustrophobia kicking in. They numbed my eyes, inserted the eye opener, and then the machine came down over my face. In that moment, my body reacted as if I were being smothered.
Out loud, I said, “Nope… nope, I can’t do this. I can’t.”
The Opthalmologist immediately stopped. He comforted me and gently assured me that we didn’t have to continue if I didn’t want to. But in my heart, I was thinking, I’ve come too far. I want to do this. Lord, I need You right now.
They called someone in to hold my hand. Yes, at 57 years old, I needed someone to hold my hand. And I’m not ashamed to say it.
Her voice was calming. Her words were soothing. With her reassurance and their patience, I was able to endure and complete the surgery.
If anyone is considering corrective eye surgery, this is the place you want to go. They don’t just treat patients, they treat you like family. This was 4 days ago, my healing is going well.“
