My situation: we had an empty dishwasher bay in a condo we just closed on, and the previous owners had never installed a dishwasher. The bay only had a wall plate with live wires tucked behind it, which was the old way of doing things. Current code requires turning those wires into a standard outlet so the dishwasher can simply plug in.

Before my plumber could install the dishwasher, we needed an electrician to handle that upgrade. I found Joe Gioffre Electric online, saw the great reviews -- especially about Rick -- and I’m happy to confirm they were spot-on.

Rick came out and actually did more than what we originally discussed. Instead of just extending the wires for a hardwired setup, he went ahead and upgraded everything to a proper outlet to meet modern code. He also modified my dishwasher itself (it was originally set up for the old hardwire method) so that it now has a standard cord with a plug. He did all of this at no extra charge, even though it went beyond the original scope and price he quoted.

On top of the quality work, Rick was incredibly friendly and personable. He walked me through everything he did, answered all my questions, and honestly was just a great person to spend time with. He noted he is a seasoned vet with over 20 years experience (IIRC) and has seen it all and knows how do to it all the right way the first time. Based on my experience with him, I'm not surprised at all.

“I was trying to save money and ended up running out of gas on a busy part of Westerville road or was wet sprinkling and I’ve got my dog in the car with me. I’m freaked out flashers on and trying to push my car by myself. A big white van pulls up behind me with a mid city electric sign on there and out comes an angel named Brian who not only helped me push my car to the side of the road he left and came back with a gas can full of gas and helped me get back on my way! He did this for free and said he has four daughters and hopes that if they are ever in trouble he would hope someone would be there for them!! Saved my day and was just a sweet person!!
