“Rita and dr Odonell are extraordinary. I am 17 year old and my parents out of town. I went into the vet because my dog was limping. I came in as a same day appt, they always seem to have those. I came to this specific vet because my friends dog had a big wound and they were able to take her in when no one else would. Turns out she had a tumor and I unfortunately had to put her down by myself. They were very understanding and walked me through everything and made sure my dog had a good time with some treats before hand. After it all was done they were very caring. They also gave me as much time as I needed with my Bella before and after.“

“I had to put my cat down earlier last week, and I can not even begin to express how thankful I am for this clinic. I was a wreck when iI found out what was going on, and that I wouldn’t financially be able to treat him. I called multiple, more local to me, clinics asking when he could get seen and or put down and they all showed extreme lack of empathy and wouldn’t be able to get him in for about a week and a half. I called this clinic and was met with immediate care for my pet and my own self in this critical time. Staff was incredibly kind, understanding, and sympathetic toward me. They treated my pet with great care in his last moments, and gave me the time I would need, along with gently talking me through options. They gave me a clay paw print, and even sent me a follow up care card a week or so after. I am so thankful and happy to have went somewhere that seems to care about the animals they work with and have empathy! I can’t recommend them enough.“

“We've been to Animal and Avian in the past and been pleased so it made sense to go to them when we got a dog recently. I was a good experience. Dr. Wilson and Chelsea were very calming for our anxious girl, Sugar. Both ladies are very knowledgeable and helped us learn training techniques for our reactive dog who is a rescue. They did a thorough physical exam and made suggestions regarding feeding and maintaining a healthy weight. Animal and Avian Medical Center was clean, had a spacious waiting room and pleasant staff. It will be our "go to" for Sugar.“

“This vet left an impression on me. Over 20 years ago, there was a stray black lab living around Goodyear’s HQ in Akron. It was late fall and after months of trying to trap the dog to adopt it, I was given Dr. Slenn’s number as he worked with a group who tried to find homes for strays. Dr Slenn volunteered to find the dog and use a tranquilizer dart to capture him.

Unfortunately, the stray dog had a rare condition that made him allergic to the tranquilizer and he died. I know he felt terrible about it as I did, but it was not his fault. This vet loves animals and tries his best! If I still lived in the area and had dogs he would be the first vet I would call!!!“
