Mercy Health - Lorain Hospital receives praise for its care and service. The ER was not horribly busy, and patients were seen right away, with everyone being terrific. The doctors and nurses are very helpful and willing to answer all questions. Surgery was efficient, with staff ready when needed. The nursing staff, housekeeping staff, and ER doctors and nurses are great. Patients have nothing but praise for the care from doctors and staff. One patient had a wonderful experience giving birth, with wonderful nurses and the ability to deliver with a midwife. Patients felt listened to and cared for, with no complications.
My daughter unexpectedly gave birth at Mercy Hospital when she was originally planning to deliver at Metro. As scary as the emergency situation was, I immediately felt comforted knowing she was in good hands. I had my own daughter at Mercy 23 years ago, so returning to the same birthing center during such an emotional and unexpected moment meant so much to me.
Every nurse was absolutely fantastic, especially Rachel. They took such wonderful care of my daughter so that she could focus on taking care of her own daughter. As a mother and now grandmother, that meant more to me than I can express.

I was amazed that a small hospital could have it all together. Between their exceptional surgical staff, and all of their other employees, it was very clear to both me and my husband that everyone we encountered was happy to be working at Mercy Health.

Almost all of the in person staff interactions I've had have been wonderful. But trying to get through to the proper department or a human being on the phone is always an exercise in patience and frustration. I respect that they are sometimes remote or automated but they could be trained or programmed much better.
