“**UPDATED 3/20**This honestly started as a 3.5 star review. There were some finishing and installation issues/damage, as well as perhaps some miscommunications between the design and install teams about some of my concerns. That led me to give what I considered a pretty fair and accurate review.However, the reason for the 5-star update is the time and care Matt took to come to my house, personally address the concerns and make things right.It is so rare to find a company these days that truly cares about customer satisfaction. Sometimes things happen with a project. But how a company responds and addresses those problems - that is the mark of integrity. That alone makes me want to do business here again. They are also very friendly, knowledgeable and have a great selection - so there's that too. :)Stop searching and give Matt a call!“
“I worked with McCarty for a bathroom and kitchen remodel and they also replaced my roof. I had an excellent experience with all 3 projects and I will work with them again for future projects. Floors had been damaged and neglected for decades, and I wouldn't be exaggerating to say the results achieved are remarkable. “We worked with Scott Hall Remodeling to remodel our kitchen. Our experience with their team was great from beginning to end. We met with one of the owners, Bryn, several times before feeling ready to commit to our project. Bryn and his team were patient with us, walked us through everything, and answered all of our questions and concerns. The design process was as overwhelming as you would expect, but Callie, their designer, was wonderful and walked us through each step, making it as easy as possible. She tweaked our design with different options and helped us make decisions. She was always available for a quick call or text when last minute things would pop up. Construction wasn’t as messy or intrusive as we were expecting. All precautions were taken to minimize dust and disruption to the rest of the house, which was wonderful. Dan, our project lead, was the best. He took so much pride in his work and it showed in everything he did. His attention to detail and craftsmanship were meticulous. We were so happy to have him on our project. There were several other people who helped on our project and everyone was very knowledgeable, professional, and did impeccable work. When our project was finished, Bryn circled back around with us to make sure everything was perfect and all loose ends were resolved. We really can’t say enough good things about our experience. We love our new space and couldn’t be happier about choosing SHR….looking forward to doing another project with them!“

“We did a full kitchen remodel and from start to finish our experience working with JS Brown was exactly what we were hoping for- and then some! Our design/sales partners were responsive, collaborative and creative. They learned our style and worked with us through every single decision that needed to be made. We loved that they were willing to be as hands-on or hands-off as we wanted them to be. They made what could have been a complicated and overwhelming process, very simple, which was exactly why we wanted to work with them. They also thought of details both in design and functionality that we never would have thought of on our own. We appreciated that they were there through the whole process as the kitchen came to life. Our new kitchen is definitely a more functional and beautiful space due to their work!Our experience during construction was also the best we’ve ever experienced. Our project manager was incredibly knowledgeable, communicative and focused on quality. He kept us informed the whole way about what was going on, what was coming next and who was going to be there. Every person that worked on our project, from demo to completion was equally as communicative and dedicated to doing a quality job.We’ve been happy with past contractors and work done on our house, but JS Brown is noticeably several steps above. All of their employees are clearly well-trained experts at their craft and great to work with. We are beyond pleased with our kitchen, and would not have changed a thing about working with JS Brown.“

“OHR finished our basement and we highly recommend them. We chose OHR because they didn't try to pressure us, and did not try to push a "cookie cutter" project on us. Everything was customized to what we needed and wanted, and they worked with us to maximize what we got for our budget.A few things that stand out:1) Communication and Timeliness: The project started almost exactly when they predicted it would, and was finished almost exactly when planned. The man in charge of our job (Todd) was here almost every day, and on the few days he wasn't here he would text to let us know not to expect anyone and why. He also always let us know when to expect subcontractors like electricians and plumbers. Jeff (co-owner) was here regularly to work and check up on the job. No one came through our home that we did not expect, and everyone was respectful and friendly. Our dog loved having so many visitors, and she has been a little depressed since the job ended because she's not getting as many belly rubs now.2) Quality: Everything is well-done and customized to what we wanted. They really took their time on things like cabinetry and moulding. They even went back around and caulked to seal any tiny gaps between the floor moulding and wall, and they took their time installing our cabinetry so that it looks perfect. Renovation is messy, but they kept the mess in the basement to a minimum and upstairs offered to mop up the floor between the basement and back door. They also took into account things that you wouldn't see after the job was done, like noise dampening between a bedroom and the unfinished part of the basement containing the furnace and water heater, and extra blocking behind the drywall for heavy items we intended to hang on the wall like a tv.3) Cost: We chose OHR because of quality, not because they were the cheapest, but even so they worked with us to get as much as we could for our budget. An example that stands out: The job was supposed to begin in late January/early February. During the week between Christmas and New Years they learned that prices on drywall were going up significantly on January 1st. They let us know, purchased the drywall before that happened, and brought it to the basement during that holiday week to avoid that price increase. Additionally, we chose to do the painting ourselves to save money, and they were careful to work time for that into the schedule before installing cabinetry and finish moulding so that we wouldn't have to paint around it. On the few occasions that an unexpected charge came up (for example, the shower pan we'd chosen was delayed by months and the one they could get right away was like $200 more) they let us know what the charge would be in advance and got our approval first.My only complaint about this job is that we didn't do it earlier. We love our basement, and would use OHR again.Services: Custom kitchen cabinet construction“
