I was nervous, but this company is legitimate. They came out quickly, diagnosed the failure, went out to get the replacement part right away and completed the job without drama. The gas control valve failed. It is a part attached to the water heater. the technician recommended to simply replace the complete water heater due to it's age (10-11) years old, as the industry recommends. I opted to replace the failed part only.
