Lakewood Cemetery is a once-beautiful place that has experienced decline over the years but is now improving under new management since April. The grounds are being mowed regularly, trash is being picked up, and efforts are underway to restore its peaceful and attractive environment. It is a popular location, often visited for walks, reading the names on headstones, and even picnics. Some visitors appreciate its calm atmosphere and consider it a good spot for romantic outings, though the openness to the public can sometimes disrupt the peaceful ambiance. The staff are friendly and helpful, but the cemetery may need donations to maintain its beauty. Overall, there is hope that it will once again become a beautiful place for families to honor loved ones.
This place used to be a beautiful cemetery . Over the years under the care of previous management it had declined and was not taken care of . It wasn’t being mowed or trash picked up. I was up there today and it has improved quite a bit . The new management has only been on board if I understood since April of this year and it is going to take time to turn things around. There was no trash and it was mowed . Actually they were mowing while we were walking around . I am in hopes that this will once again be a beautiful place to have families feel good about burying their loved ones there. Chris

I recently visited for a picnic. First dates are an important impression to determine how your potential partner sees you. I thought the graveyard was a perfect place to set a romantic dinner.
I also enjoy taking walks and reading the names on my time off. Unfortunately, despite the credits to the atmosphere, the fact that it is open to the public is a double-edged sword! They should offer a membership and make it private property so it can be enjoyed more peacefully. Grieving people tend to be loud, and it really damages the ambiance.
The people who work there are very nice and helpful. But I suspect they might be in need of donations for the upkeep of their beautiful cemetery. I had a granite headstone made for my g grandfather.
