I can also say, if you are still using the Sleep Apnea Machine, I urge you to TRY the oral appliance, you will LOVE IT! It is like wearing a retainer! No tubes to clean, no attachments and easy to travel with. You also do not need to keep checking in with your pulmonologist for readings. For those who are snoring and gasping for air and haven't done your sleep study, I highly recommend you do so asap and let them know you would like to see Dr Rao at Oakwood Dental of Tottenville for a necessary sleep apnea dental appliance! It is also good for your heart and I am not waking up in the middle of the night for bathroom visits, I am sleeping better and I even lost weight because I was not craving during the day! “2025..Update several years later...If it wasn't for Dr. Defeo I would have NO front top or bottom teeth....change that to NO TEETH AT ALL. He's a brilliant dentist and once again, I thought that was it...after not showing up for way too long for an appointment...I was sure he was going to tell me that I needed dentures but no..he is fixing the teeth that need fixing and his bridges and crowns LAST FOR SO LONG...I've never had one of his cbridges or crowns replaced. The bad reviews because the front desk is so busy are absurd. They are the nicest ladies to me. Dr. Defeo is of the best dentists and human beings on Staten Island.“
