The place is filthy. Use to be clean! Some of the employees smell like weed, floors are deteriorated, social workers are rude and no compassion. This use to be a beautiful place to go …. Not no more! When have our standards dropped so low! My mother fell out of bed twice in the emergency room after they gave her sleeping meds and that caused two cat scans. Tried to forced placement to a nursing home 1.5 hours away. Sent her home alone. And then they respond on here to call patient services who do absolutely nothing …

No one looks forward to hospitalization but Highland made the experience as positive as possible. Nursing care, especially from Juju and Mike K. Was wonderful and patient tech Dominique was exceptional. Is the hospital over full? Yes! Are more nurses needed? Yes! But are there people going the extra mile to provide excellent patient care? Yes! Highland is a special place

Emergency room is hit or miss. I am evaluating this review upon being admitted for a week. I was on the 5th floor west where the nursing staff ( especially Julie, JuJu and Mike) were amazing, compassionate, authentic and are born to be healers! Went above and beyond to assure my comfort and peace. Will be investigating how to nominate them for the Daisy Award at Highland Hospital.
