“Dr. Linda Brandon has been with the Kingston Walmart Vision team since 1999. I first met her several years ago when I was considering getting just one contact for reading since my far vision was perfect. (I was just tired of having to use readers and keeping them on top of my head so I could find them.) She was very helpful and truthful explaining to me that drugstore readers were the best solution for me because my vision, except for reading was perfect and since I wasn't used to having anything in front of my eyes, except for reading, I would not really like having a contact. She said that only when forced into a corner to have contacts or daily eyeglasses would I want them.

So I stuck with readers until I got older and the far vision was no longer perfect. At that point I had Vision Insurance for the first time and went to a competing vision store. It was o.k., but pricey (even with insurance because of a high deductible). The glasses were good, but the lens cracked. So I purchased a second pair, but the frame broke.

This time I went back to Walmart (no longer had vision insurance). The front of store staff helped me to find a frame that fit my perfectly good lenses, inserted them into the new frame, and all for only $50.00!! (the staff that helped me was previously from the competing vision store!)

I recently returned to Walmart to have my eyes rechecked. Dr. Linda Brandon was the optometrist again. I explained that I had been cleaning my glasses daily with Zeiss lens cleaner or a lens wipe, but it was still difficult to see out of them. I was worried that the AR film was going bad. She explained that the best thing to do was to wash the lenses with Dawn dishwashing liquid once a day to remove all oils. Voila, now I can see clearly.

I can honestly say that even if I did have vision insurance, I would still choose this Walmart location because of Dr. Linda Brandon!

She is thorough, and she patiently and kindly explains everything that they are doing. She also only dilates the eyes if medically necessary! She gives top notch advice and is not at all pushy.
