Was definitely nervous coming in but I felt super at ease after talking through it and could not be happier with my results. Was able to go from medium brown to a vibrant dark red with no bleach which is exactly what I wanted. Can’t recommend this salon enough, good vibes, great staff, super clean, loved it! Also all the people before me were very happy with their results which was reassuring“

“Sergio is the GOAT (Greatest of all time). If you have long hair and need a consistent quality haircut, there is no other choice for a barber in NYC. “One of the best haircuts I’ve ever gotten. I showed him a couple photos and he was able to come up with a hairstyle that combined all of them and looked amazing. I highly recommend coming for a cut but I do not personally recommend getting the k18 hair mask. My scalp is sadly still sore from my hair getting pulled out during the k18 repair mask process. I very much recommend getting your haircut here, but maybe just skip the k18. Just in general if your hairdresser does start running their hands through your wet hair kind of hard speak up earlier, I wish I had, and that was my fault. Anyway great place in general!Update: they don’t let us send replies to replies but I did want to say thank you and that I upped the number of stars because y’all’s response was so nice.“

“This is without the very best shop in the the city. The vibe is so relaxed, friendly, warm, personable, you immediately feel very comfortable and know that you are in good hands. Tim has created and curated this environment for his customers. I started going to Tim about a year ago, right after a really bad barber had literally chopped my hair in so many layers that it is hard to describe what it looked like, but trust me it was not good. I found Tim at Public Image and within 7 months he had somehow managed to get my hair back in shape. I know how he managed, he is an expert when it comes to cutting hair. He listens, recommends and most importantly follows through and gives you the exact cut that you had discussed with him. I can't say enough about Tim other than he is just an all around spectacular guy even minus his expertise in cutting hair. Everyone do yourself a favor and book a haircut with Tim or actually any of the others in his shop! They are all great. Public Image NYC is a very solid 10“
