10/10!! If you aren’t going to Jiu Jitsu Modern you are missing out. Everyone is always ready to help each other out. The atmosphere is unmatched, you really do gain a family both on & off the mats. The competition classes are on another level. Professor Carlos & all the coaches have a way with making BJJ classes insightful whether it’s Gi or No-Gi. I’ve been going to Modern for over a year and honestly it is one of the few only things keeping me in NY.

Was lucky to come into town during Carlos's grand opening in 2017 and hadn't been back until this month - I was blown away by what Carlos and the team have built - a great kids program, a competitive atmosphere for adults looking to push themselves, and plenty of space for anyone just looking to better their health and fitness. After 12 years of training, I've seen a lot of bad and good schools. I can say that a great school starts from the top: Carlos, Tara, and the crew are solid, good people with solid jiu-jitsu and I'd recommend anyone young or old to train with them.

Very happy to call JJMDRN my home! I had been training and living in NYC for the past 3 years, and when I moved out to Long Island I was searching for a new BJJ home. JJMDRN was the most welcoming BJJ gym out of all the ones I visited. Professor Carlos is an incredible teacher. The vibes are always supportive and competitive. JJMDRN is the best BJJ school on Long Island!
