Shuhei is literally a wizard!!I've been to five different hair stylists in the city, and no stylist has ever been as kind, patient, and compassionate as Shuhei when we were discussing my scalp/hair loss issues. We spent 15 minutes alone on the consultation part of my appointment, where he looked at my inspo pictures and discussed better options for my hair texture (thin). He spent another hour on shampooing and meticulously cutting my hair. He took the time to shape every strand, and make sure every layer was perfect. You know that feeling after you get a haircut, where your reflection in the mirror is a bit off, and, you figure, you just have to adjust to your new appearance? Apparently, that isn't an innate part of getting a haircut. I have never looked in the mirror after an appointment with Masumi and thought anything but "I look so much better."Masumi has perfected the art of fitting what you want to your face shape. Now, my mom sees her. My sister does too. Our group chat always has lots of excitement around our post-Masumi haircut selfies. BEST PLACE IN THE CITY!!!I used to go to the same person in Tokyo for over 15 years before moving to NYC. After a few unsuccessful hairs cut in the city, I finally found Shair and I’ve been going for the last couple of years now.I like how tchill, and relaxing the vibes are, the very nice and skillful staff, and the easy access location close to 14th St/Union Square.10/10 recommended!!!
