My husband came in for an American crop perm. We brought clear reference photos showing exactly how it should be done — foil sections, not rods. Peter (older, long hair) looked at the photos and ignored them entirely, using large cylindrical rods instead.
I was there and stopped him halfway through, asking why he wasn't using foil like in the photos. Peter said it wouldn't matter, the result would be the same.
