I would like to begin this recommendation by stating that I was referred to ABC Animal Hospital through Manhattan Animal Care and Control. The customer service I received with my pet, Saaphyri (Sapphire), was good and fair at the same time. When I initially brought Saaphyri in was an excellent experience. The Veterinary Assistant was polite and helpful. The subsequent days of me having to call and find out what was going on was lackluster and frustrating. I did not meet the doctor to have an opinion of his demeanor, so I will leave that out of my overall opinion. My overall opinion is ABC Animal Hospital performed a service for my cat and it was completed. I would not bring Saaphyri back for two reasons: 1. I live in Morningside Heights and it is too far to travel to. Saaphyri was stressed out on the ride there and back. 2. The off-and-on customer service frustrated me and my immediate family to the point of no return. Please use common sense and reasonability when choosing a doctor for your pet.
Honestly, I didn't think I'd review our vet but we're very happy with ABC Animal Hospital and I thought it warranted it. Dr Tufaro is professional and helpful, especially as we're first-time puppy owners and we're basically helicopter owners who have no idea which things we should worry about and which we shouldn't. The staff are kind and accommodating as well, and we always feel taken care of. Our dog drags us towards the vet and loves going, so they must be doing something right!
