However, when I saw auditions open at my local community theater for my favorite play, Ragtime, I thought, why not? I work in Nyack and saw that Rivertown Music Studio did audition prep. I emailed Chris, and he agreed to help me prep for my audition once a week from October until the audition in January. He was amazing to work with - direct, kind, and helpful. I gained the confidence to try out for the first time, get a role, and join a wonderful cast and crew at County Players. It was an experience of a lifetime and who knew, I CAN sing! I went back to Chris to try out again, and due to Chris's help, my voice became stronger, and my technique improved. I didn't get a part this time, but was proud of my audition.
