Back in June, my condensate drain line clogged, causing the condensate pan to overflow and water to leak through my ceiling. It was during a heat wave, and every other HVAC company I called was booked until the next day or later. B&R was upfront about their transparent hourly pricing plus parts and was able to get a technician to my house within a couple of hours. He quickly diagnosed the clogged drain, cleared it, and even recommended installing an emergency float switch to help prevent this from ever becoming a major disaster in the future. When an unexpected issue caused the job to run about 30 minutes longer through no fault of mine, they kindly waived the extra time without me having to argue about it. Most importantly, at no point did anyone try to sell me a new HVAC system, even though mine is an original 1998 R22 unit.

A few weeks later, my condenser wouldn't start. They had me scheduled first thing the next morning, and I was happy to get the same technician again. He immediately found that the wire leading to the capacitor had burned and repaired it instead of trying to sell me an entire system. While he was there, I decided to replace the capacitor with a higher quality one as preventive maintenance. He happened to have it in stock on the truck, which was really convenient and something I appreciated. That upgrade was completely my choice and wasn't something he tried to upsell me on. I also appreciate their hourly pricing because it makes it easy to have additional work done without feeling like you're getting hit with inflated flat rate charges.

Both repairs were completed correctly the first time, and I haven't had to call them back for either issue.

The only minor suggestion I'd make is that I like paying in cash, and a couple of times they didn't have change. I ended up stopping by the shop shortly afterward to pay the remaining difference, which wasn't a big deal and I took care of right away. Now I know to just have the exact amount ready next time.

Keep up the great work. We need more local companies like B&R that focus on honest repairs, fair pricing, and taking care of their customers instead of trying to sell them things they don't need.“
