66 Westchester Square, Bronx“- Excellent doctors (recommend Dr. Bassman), excellent techs, excellent front office staff, excellent management. No exceptions, which is rare.
- Facility is kept immaculate without feeling sterile.
- Very transparent pricing.
- Their “Fear Free” handling can really make a difference, especially for older or vulnerable cats that can actually get sicker from stress.
- Management and staff have always been responsive to even minor feedback.
- Handling of insurance is seamless. Never have to even think about it.
After 5+ years of having 3 cats at Heart of Chelsea (2 routine/healthy cats, one who went through an uncommon illness) we couldn’t be happier and have never been disappointed.
It’s a 25 minute trip for us, but easily worth it.
If you want to keep a healthy pet healthy, or have excellent, expert care for an aging or ill pet, I highly recommend Heart of Chelsea.
Thanks Carlos, Rebecca, Dr. Bassman & Adrianna!“

988b Morris Park Ave, Bronx“We found Dr. Solomon last summer. Our first visit was for our cat, Loki, to be neutered. I was impressed with how much time Doctor Solomon took with us to explain everything during the consultation. Much different atmosphere than my previous vet. Everything also went great with the neutering and the cost was very affordable. Our second visit was with my senior dog, who after having a couple bad experiences at the previous vet was a little skittish of the vet and they were no longer even able to get blood work from her without her whining and crying. This is a dog that doesn’t typically cry over anything. Dr. Solomon took this into consideration, shaved the area, used calming petting and other techniques to keep her calm and was able to get blood. All the vet techs at the office genuinely love animals and you can tell they love their job. We have recently had some health scares with Loki and Dr. Solomon has been so good at explaining everything and giving us options. He’s always also given multiple options for a treatment when possible in case cost is a factor. His front desk staff is very professional and friendly. I am so glad that we found Bronx County animal Hospital. We plan on continuing bringing our present and future furry children to him!“

Thankful for this local, neighborhood vet office that knows what they’re doing and genuinely cares for my boy. They don’t pressure you into having your dog go through unnecessary procedures like so many private-equity owned vet offices these days. Please support them.“

41 Plandome Rd, Manhasset“I know Dr Hendrickson is both a graduate of Cornell and probably the only vet that has attended Cornell for its entire prestigious vet school for miles on the island. Yet a degree can not measure empathy and it made me cry when Dr Henrickson occasion would call me after my dog passed and see how I was holding up and this occurred for months. Dr I really appreciate your empathy it is priceless“

16 Willowdale Ave, Port Washington“I can’t recommend Dr. Farmiloe and this entire practice enough! My sweet cat had bladder stones, and they were able to see her immediately, perform the surgery, and have her back home safe and sound. The team was incredibly thorough, kind, and compassionate. Even in such a stressful situation, they made us feel supported every step of the way. Truly an amazing veterinary practice — thank you all so much!“

81 Old Shore Rd, Port Washington“Dr Tell is the BEST vet! He is well informed and is happy to answer my many questions, takes his time to examine my dogs and makes thoughtful recommendations. Dr Tell never suggests unnecessary visits, tests and treatments to make an extra buck, which I really appreciate (my previous vet was the opposite). He is also marvelous with dogs. My Teddy is always happy to see Dr Tell. I’m so grateful to this practice for taking such exceptional care of us. My dogs are in great hands.“

43-73 156th St, Queens“Dr. Chew is truly such a wonderful vet and our Mochi was taken care of every single time we went and he always returned our calls. Only thing that prevents me from giving the clinic a 5 star rating is that they are very old school and don't do email correspondence, so if we need Chewy to verify a med, we need to go to the clinic to pick the physical prescription and or copies of records. We made the difficult choice to switch to somewhere closer to us as we are in Forest Hills. If you're fairly local to this clinic, we absolutely recommend Dr. Chew.“

111 Plainfield Ave, Elmont“My horse, Prome, seemingly has made it his mission to show the world how amazing the Ruffian team is. Our Ruffian experience started in 2020 when my guy had to be seen twice in one year for horrible colic. The first colic was particularly scary yet Dr. Pigott and his team remained diligent and saw Prome through that, getting him well and finally able to come home. Dr. Pigott came to the rescue again in February 2023 when Prome required “dorsal spinous process surgery” for “severe thoracolumbar kissing spine”. Not only did Prome come back after that surgery but he absolutely thrived, moving the best he ever had. In fact, he did so well that we were able to do a hunter derby in late fall 2023 and planned to get on the show circuit this summer. Unfortunately, Prome’s body had other plans and he experienced another horrible colic at the end of June 2024, which was his first since his 2020 episodes. This time Dr. Mejia came to our rescue. Here again there were very scary moments, but Dr. Mejia and his team got my guy through it and well enough to undergo laparoscopic nephrosplenic space ablation on 07/02/2024. Prome has since recovered so well that you cannot tell he had any surgery at all! I don’t imagine I’ll ever be able to thank this group enough for what they have given Prome and me. They’ve brought him back from the brink multiple times now and kept us in the saddle. Beyond the exceptional medical care, I’m always so grateful for their level of communication, with the surgeons calling and texting multiple times each day to give updates. The entire team goes above and beyond, even to the point of grooming my guy each day and always welcoming me on my daily visits. While I always joke that we love seeing them but hope to not need them for another decade or more, I rest easy knowing they are down the road.“

86-37 Lefferts Blvd, Richmond Hill“I have been going to Lefferts Animal Hospital for about 25 years and highly recommend them for the care of your pets. Although all the staff are great there, Dr. Acevado is my main go to vet. She has always gone the extra mile in treating my past cat and now Smokey. She is extremely kind, caring and knowledgeable and I thank her immensely for making my cat well again.“
8:30AM - 7PM
7623 Jamaica Ave, Queens“I brought our family’s 16-year-old senior cat, Sonny, here for the first time after he hadn’t been to a vet in years, and overall we had a positive experience.
The wait wasn’t long, which we really appreciated. The clinic itself is a bit older in appearance, but the staff was very kind and welcoming. Julie in particular was wonderful — she made us feel at ease, didn’t pressure us into anything, and was so patient while handling our very spicy senior cat.
Dr. Papak was knowledgeable and thorough, and we really appreciated that she is bilingual. That was a big plus for our family since Sonny lives with my Spanish-speaking parents, and it helped ensure everything was clearly understood. We were also happy to hear that, at 16 years old, Sonny’s teeth and overall condition looked great.
At one point, the communication in the exam room felt a little tense, and I just hope staff interactions can always feel as supportive as the care they provide, especially since the techs were doing such a great job with a difficult patient.
Overall, Sonny received good care, the team was kind, and the location is very convenient for us, so we would return.“

“Dr. Kwasnik at Animal Medicine & Surgery of Little Neck is everything you hope to find in a veterinarian—and then some. From the moment we walked in as new clients with our puppy, we felt genuinely welcomed and completely at ease.
Dr. Kwasnik’s care went far beyond a routine visit. He took the time to truly get to know our puppy, explained everything clearly and thoughtfully, and never once made us feel rushed. As first-time clients, we had plenty of questions, and he answered each one with patience, compassion, and a depth of knowledge that immediately inspired confidence.
What stood out most was how present he was—he listened, he explained, and he made sure we understood not just the “what,” but the “why.” It’s clear that he doesn’t just practice veterinary medicine; he cares deeply about the animals and the families who love them.
We left the appointment feeling reassured, informed, and grateful to have found a veterinarian we trust. Dr. Kwasnik is a true professional and a rare find. We are incredibly thankful to have him caring for our puppy and highly recommend him to anyone looking for exceptional veterinary care.“
