At the rehabilitation center my dad went to before his surgery, he became severely dehydrated to the point that he needed hospitalization twice in 2-3 months, so I was concerned about finding a better place for his post-surgical rehabilitation. Disclosure: I looked into Union Plaza Care Center because I knew someone on staff there since childhood. However, I would not have sent my father there or kept him there if they didn't take excellent care of him, and he went from bedridden with sores to walking stairs on his own in just over three months at Union Plaza. He had spent most of the previous six months lying in a hospital bed, so his improvement really was incredible. I heard a staff member say that they commuted an hour and a half each way because they liked working there so much. That was really reassuring to hear, because even the most dedicated caregiver needs to feel supported by their managers in order to give their best effort, and that's what we got from everyone involved.
