Grupo Liberdade de Capoeira
“For anyone who wants to learn capoeira or simply train their body in ways they never thought possible, GLDC is the most welcoming of any capoeira academy I have been to, starting with the group leader.”

“ASNJ is a rare and wonderful place. Cannot overstate. My 12 y/o daughter started practicing here in November, she loves it. This isn’t our first crack at martial arts - My daughter can be shy and hesitant to put herself out there- but she has truly thrived here. The vibe/ the instructors/ the energy is just so awesome - she is engaged and challenged and feels comfortable - she has never said “I don’t want to go”. The whole Dojo is just full of caring, intelligent and funny instructors and members who genuinely care for and support one another. Sensei Jay and the rest of the Dojo leadership / instructors we have worked with so far (Frank, Paul, James, Thu, Barry, Tom, and Guzman) are all really great - they are awesome teachers, compassionate towards the students while challenging them to be their best selves - and always, always welcoming. I cannot recommend ASNJ enough to parents and to adults who want to practice. They offer tons of classes, very flexible schedule, interesting and fun options no matter your level/ readiness. If you are considering trying or returning to martial arts for yourself, or for your child/adolescent/teenager, ASNJ should be your first stop. You will not regret it.”

“This review is long overdue. Professor Mike and Rita, thank you for everything. Your kindness, guidance, and dedication gave me the skills and foundation to become a successful MMA fighter — including winning a championship belt. I still think about the academy and training there often. Even though I’ve moved to New Jersey, I’ll always be grateful for what you gave me on and off the mats. Thank you again.
