She has undone all of my previous bad haircuts and hair coloring and has worked with me to style my hair and integrate my incoming gray without my becoming yellow through highlights and low lights. I used to get my hair cut by a family member, and never cared for city salons, but Barnet Fair is a welcoming and warm space that has some of the coolest stylists in the city. Everytime I'm there I see a fun color going on someone's hair, or an edgy cut, and it's great to be at a salon with fresh ideas and expert staff. I get my hair cut by Rae, and they are amazing! Avery at the front desk is so friendly and efficient as well as all the assistants who help with washes in the back.“

“I love this salon - super professional and always share great advice & guidance but with zero pretension/ judgy-ness. They are very straightforward about pricing, and what treatments do and don’t make sense. Easy to make appointments, occasional promotions, and the owner is just lovely. My cuts have all been absolutely great (I have thick, curly hair that’s easy to turn into a terrible triangle shape) but the color has been positively fantastic. I switched to this salon after an appointment at another salon in the area that took forever, with multiple people squeezed in during my appointment while I waited, and started off with the stylist basically making fun of me for just *considering* a fun ombré color at my age (early 30s).
