But in reality, the hours are great, especially for workaholics like me, and the staff knows what they are doing. Plus, their prices are better than those other snobby spas. Jim has a way of holding space for you that is not distracting or overly forceful. He meets you where you are. His sessions are profound and thorough. “I get pedicures regularly, and generally go to Kim's in Maplewood Village. A few months ago, Kim's made me wait a very long time while taking other patrons first, and I decided to try another place for a change.

I drove to downtown Millburn and walked into Ambrose Salon, who immediately took me. Unlike Kim's, the Ambrose pedicure chairs provided a vibration and consistent water temperature with bubbling water. The pedicure chair offered a rolling massage good for up to 30 minutes, which was very relaxing.

My pedicurist took her time in giving me a regular pedicure ($30), complete with a heel soak bag in oil which was used while she polished my nails. The pedicures I get at Ambrose last me more than 3 weeks, much longer than any other pedicures in the area. I highly recommend them.“

“I come here for massages all the time, every few weeks, and think it is always been great. of course some of the massage therapists are different, do things a little differently so I do have my favorite guy that I have been using for quite some time now. Other than that reading some of the negative reviews, I don't find anything to fault or negative here, other than maybe you can't communicate with your therapist well, I have utilized the man at the front door at the desk with the glasses and he communicates to them as I need, I have not had a problem with this.

I generally get the deep tissue massage but I have also had a regular and foot massages. I just indicate the pressure I would like, but my guy knows me now so I think he just knows how to handle spots on his own and works them out.“

“It went something like this… I was greeted nicely and walked to a room. No conversation about payment just let me help you. I laid on the table, and the lady went to work. She rubbed every knot out of my body. The hot stones came out and the peppermint I had in my mouth fell out! lol pure enjoyment!!!! My time was over, I asked her name, given a water, paid and said I SEE YOU SOON!!!!!! The only personal grip for me was, I was a bit cold and I’m not sure if when she left the room she closed the door behind her, I was still exposed but she came right back. Thank you!!!!“

“I’ve been coming here about once a week for a while now. It’s just a solid, reliable place. The staff are friendly but not over the top, and they know what they’re doing. Booking is easy, and they usually keep things on time, which I appreciate. The massage is consistent with good pressure, and they adjust if you ask. The place is clean and quiet, nothing fancy but comfortable. It’s become part of my routine at this point.“
