While other contractors took weeks to give us a quote, Ricardo got it done in a week.He was very knowledgeable and professional during the entire length of the construction. He kept us aware of any unforeseen situations and accommodated all the requests that we had that were not necessarily in the original plans. “I've done business with Innovative Carpentry and more specifically the owner Jim many times in my life. The first three words that come to mind when I think of Jim are genuine, compassionate, and gifted. His scope of knowledge ranges from basic construction to intricate and custom woodworking to fit any space to electrical engineering and even plumbing. He has an incredible spatial awareness and knows how to use all of the space afforded to his customers - those living in the MetroNYC area know what I mean. I say this to give the context that he doesn't come in to just do a job and leave. His work and his ethics assure that once the job is complete, it has been cross-referenced and functions within the entire ecosystem of the modern home or whatever place that you're considering renovating. Innovative is a small business and has all the charms of a small business (easy to contact the owner, he always finds time to squeeze you in, remembers your family and friends that he meets while in your company), yet the output (size, quality and scope of the job) feels like it rolled out of a Manhattan showroom. In the past, he and his team have done custom cabinetry for my family and I, as well as several bathrooms, and even a kitchen. Friends have used him to build their summer homes and each of them were beyond satisfied and still occupy these happy homes without issues years later. The finished products are truly unbelievable and he always adds a touch that you would never think of; Jim helps you dream in a sense. The work is and has always been seamless. Jim and his staff take their time to sit with you personally to assess your needs, and in times of crises, he systematically "turns over every stone" to get to the root of a problem. Working with Innovative doesn't feel like your'e going to a place to get "sold" on something. Recently, when my family and I experienced serious flood damage in our new place, Jim took time out of his busy schedule to come over several times to take a deeper look at the potential causes and he compared and contrasted how different fixes would lead to the best possible solution for my family and I. Also, I think that it is very important to mention that the people who work under Jim's direction are long-time members of the staff, some having worked with him for over twenty years! They're friendly, trustworthy, kind and are completely reverent when working in the home space. I feel that this says a lot about the type of culture cultivated within Innovative Carpentry. “We have been working with Alicia of AKID on several projects since 2019.The first project Alicia worked on was a challenge because we were right in the middle of a master bedroom suite project. Completing a project that was started by someone else is no easy task. But, Alicia proved that she was a fully capable professional. She smoothly transitioned herself into the project and worked with the existing contractor and took over for a designer who no longer was available. The final results: She transformed a mundane master suite into an exquisitely designed master bedroom suite in spite of being thrown into the midst of the project. Every single detail was addressed which is the reason we continued to work with Alicia on every other room in this home.The results are phenomenal … a combination of our personal style and Alicia’s great interior recommendations…she truly contributed to our achieving a very unique and personal style. We continue to receive complements…it’s amazing how many people make positive comments. Alicia successfully combined our favorite existing pieces with unique distinctive pieces resulting in an Art Deco modern style.In 2020 we purchased a home in Cape Cod. We sent Alicia photos, floor plans and more not thinking that she could in fact continue to work with us on re-decorating this home; we just wanted to share the second home purchase with her. But, Alicia used our photos and real estate information on the house to start making suggestions. We realized that Alicia was fully capable of working on the home even though she never physically visited it. So we continued using Alicia on virtually all aspects of decorating the home.
