We are very please with the service that Carmen provided. First, we were looking for haircut services for my mom, who is an older woman; that has health conditions. We were recommended to check out Carmen, because she was patient, local, and very accommodating. All of the above was true. What we didn’t expect, was her kindness and all around soft aura that helped my mom feel safe and cared for during her service.
Overall, pricing was very much reasonable considering she stayed true to the requested hair style and color. She even made sure 3 times that we make sure no changes needed to be made before we left. She styled with gel prior to leaving. The shop was clean. Seating was available. And she was available to communicate via phone and text.
Things to keep in mind. It is street parking; however it is walking distance to food, groceries, and a park - if this matters.

The shop itself was clean and welcoming, which added to the overall positive experience. The only downside is that they only accept cash, so make sure to bring some with you. I was a customer from 1957 (age 7) when I lived at 1081 E. Jersey until about 1980 when i moved from Connecticut to State College PA. Frank arrived in, I think, the mid 60s and he was my guy until I moved and couldn't make the drive in time (about 4 hours).⁰ After 60+ years, and having lived from NYC, Connecticut to Pittsburgh and back he's the best barber I've ever had. Love seeing the photos. Not much change except the wall after the back chair.

This salon is so welcoming and professional. Rosy was my nail tech and she was AMAZING. She was pleasant, gentle, and pays attention to detail. I showed her the picture of the design I wanted and she NAILED IT! The owner is also Great. She leads by example and it shows in her staff. She offered me a cup of coffee while Rosy was doing my nails, which took me by surprise. I declined bc I dont drink coffee, so she offered me tea, which i love. I thought that was so sweet. I've never had that service in a salon that wasn't a luxury spa. The cherry on top was that I absolutely LOVED my Nails❤️?. I got so many compliments on vacation. If you’re like me then you are extremely picky about your lashes and brows. This salon is just top tier. The salon is immaculate and they are very hygienic which is super important when dealing with anything involving your face/eye area, they are organized, parking is easy, and they are very accommodating. In over 12 years of getting my lashes done no set has ever stayed as long as when I get them done here also my eyes always tear and burn excessively anywhere else I have gone but not here no tearing and no burning ever. You literally cannot see or feel any glue they look like the lashes grew naturally from your eye. This place is a hidden gem with very talented artists and they definitely gained a new loyal client in me.

When I met the doctor he made me feel so comfortable and then when he started do different methods that were amazing and showed me that he doesn't just crack your back... When each session began I was made beyond comfortable from his staff as well as from Dr Kirk...when it came time to cracking my back and neck ect. As someone who was nervous about driving, I would highly recommend Pepe’s driving school to anyone looking to learn or improve their driving. I went from being unfamiliar with the basics to passing my test and getting my license. Most importantly beyond just passing, gaining knowledge and important practical skills needed for everyday driving and staying safe on the road. For all of this I can thank the 3 instructors I had the opportunity of taking my lessons with, as they were all incredible and unbelievably supportive and patient the entire process.
I took most of my lessons with Yulma, and she was great from the beginning making sure to teach me all the basics and everything I needed to know as a beginner, always teaching me at the right pace before moving on to the next lesson. She taught me how to park in a simple and efficient way, correcting my mistakes, sharing helpful tips, easing my concerns, while also encouraging and emphasizing my overall progress and improvement. She was very honest about my driving and what to improve which I personally liked and really appreciated, had a great attitude, and was really professional. Yulma will do wonders for your driving if you actually listen and follow her instructions and advice.
I also took lessons with Cruz who was absolutely lovely. He was great at teaching, would explain everything in detail, including what I needed to do at different signs, streets and real driving situations, even without me having to ask. He would even demonstrated himself how to correctly do or fix the things I would struggle with (like turns) which I appreciate. He never made me feel uncomfortable asking questions or sharing my doubts, was always on time, and always seemed calm and in a good mood. Cruz truly made my lessons feel enjoyable and less nerve wrecking as someone that tends to get anxious, I’m still amazed by how patient and supportive he was with me.
Finally, with Mark, who was also a great instructor and overall a wonderful person with me, great to learn from. He was extremely supportive and great at making me feel comfortable and confident in my driving even when I had doubts. Gave me the encouragement I needed to challenge myself when necessary and I felt like he genuinely cared about helping me learn and pass my road test. He was also the instructor that took me on the day of my test and shared my happiness when I finally got my license. I especially appreciated that he has a lot of knowledge about everything you need to know and do for the road test and how great he is at explaining.
They’re all amazing, friendly, and respectful, plus they really know how to make you feel comfortable. You can tell they truly have so much knowledge and experience in what they do that they’re willing to share for your improvement and growth as a driver. They teach you things just how you’ll be tested when taking your road test, emphasizing exactly what techniques you need to use, steps to memorize, and important details to remember. So a special thank you to Yulma, Cruz, and Mark. Mabel in the office was also kind and respectful whenever I had to schedule my lessons or road test, helping me find what worked best for me. Overall, I had a great experience with Pepe’s Driving School. If you’re trying to decide or just needed some reassurance, take this as a sign to trust Pepe’s instructors, believe in yourself and stay confident that you will be getting that license because truly, if I had to do all this again, I wouldn’t doubt choosing Pepe’s again.❤️
These people are actually so nice like I was so scared at first to drive but when I got in the car they really eased me into it and now I feel more confident being on the road
