14 Taconic Dr, Amherst“Chris has been wonderful! Within our first meeting, we put together so many puzzle pieces of factors that were likely leading to physical touch challenges, aggressions, and anxiety with our puppy. His suggestions have already made such a significant positive change in what our day to day looks like and our dog is visibly happier, calmer, and seeks our more scratches and cuddles everyday. All in less than 2 months, I can only imagine the positive changes that will continue to come. Thank you Chris, highly recommend reaching out to him!“

I've taken a few of the one hour workshops and just completed a Precision Heeling class. My daughter and I had so much fun learning all about heeling, Ashley is so knowledgeable, patient, and always thoroughly answers any questions. We look forward to taking more classes here in the future!“

“We are getting out dog trained. We love the way trainer handles our stubborn golden and giving us all the necessary tools to be a successful pet parent. Thank you for taking time and answering our questions and concerns. We appreciate your time.“
“My wife and I waited until the last minute to book our dogs for boarder. Kary came through in the clutch after calling many kennels located closer to our house. Very professional, dogs did great, and unlike previous kennelings, neither repeated stress related anxiety. Great place, highly recommended.Aaron Strickland“

“I refuse to do agility training anywhere but American K9 Country. I drive 2.5 hours every week for class because I know there is no place around that compares to AK9C. As someone who works as a dog training instructor, I have come to find that the dog training field is flooded with people that are great trainers but not great teachers (or vice versa). AK9C is owned and staffed by trainers who are not only seasoned and accomplished handlers, but also wonderful teachers.
I was introduced to AK9C years ago before I had my current dog, but already had an interest in agility. I immediately knew after visiting the facility that this is where I would bring my future dog to train. I began taking agility classes with Nick in the spring of 2025 and it has become something to look forward to every week since. I immediately felt welcomed despite being in a class with handlers who had more experience than me. Nick is the ideal teacher who adapts his teaching to the handler and dog in the ring while still holding everyone to the same standards. He gives constructive criticism in a very productive way and makes sure his students know what they did well even when they are being hard on themselves. He has helped push me to begin competing for the first time and educated me on all that I need to know for trial day.
I have only competed in one agility trial at AK9C so far, but the experience was great. Other handlers were very friendly and supportive and I feel like that is a reflection of the culture that AK9C has created.
Between all of this and the ever-improving facility, I have never even considered doing agility training elsewhere.“
