However, some nurses have faced criticism for their attitude, lack of clarity in communication, and varying levels of thoroughness. Some have even been described as snappy, needing a refresher in basic manners and empathy. There have also been reports of inconsistent communication from different nurses. Dr. Kattan and Dr. Alvarez handled the majority of my care. Dr. Kattan happened to be on duty at the hospital the day I appeared at the UNC ER with decreased movement. The wonderful hospital staff got Dr. Kattan my test and ultrasound results immediately and she saw at once that something was off.
