“Perez was at our house on Friday to replace a defective window and did such a good job I wanted to make sure you knew what a positive impression he made on me. He was friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. He was very respectful of our house in bringing in and out his long extension ladders and window parts, and even removed his shoes since it was wet outside. He represented Kingsford with such genuine concern for its quality, both in service and product, he could have owned the business. He is an asset to Kingsford and I hope he is recognized as such. “You never want to be newly into a separation from your ex-spouse only to discover a surprise roof leak, evidence of which was, until recently, covered up by a piece of furniture that said ex-spouse has since moved. First, a shoutout to owner Barry! Barry came out to my house and spent a good, long while up on the roof checking out the roof/chimney/siding, and answering many, many questions. (By contrast, another company who I called out for a second opinion sent a drone up, took a few pictures, and that was all she wrote.) Barry was courteous to a fault, *extremely* responsive, and generally just a joy to work with. With a lot of contractors, you can't help but get the vibe that they are trying to cheat you, but I genuinely felt looked after by Barry and his crew during a very vulnerable time (see: separation). He let me know straightaway when it turned out that the project was going to cost more than initially estimated and ultimately wound up charging me what I consider a very fair price for a repair that turned out to be a lot more involved than I think either of us anticipated.

Second, a shoutout to master carpenter John who, along with Dan (I think??) did the actual repairs. Oh man. If you ever need someone to come and do construction on your house, then John is the man you want doing it. I get the impression that John has fixed more houses than I've had hot meals. In addition to knowing his stuff, John's a true Southern gentleman and is quietly hilarious to boot.

In conclusion, American Craftsmen of NC are the guys to call if you want quality repairs at a fair price delivered by a team of dudes who legitimately care about you as a client and more than just as an invoice number. Thank you guys! I sincerely hope that I do NOT have another major home repair anytime soon but if I do then I know who to call!“
