“My mom and aunt once told me they believed hiring an interior designer to help furnish your home would ultimately save you money and make your home far more aesthetically pleasing, especially if you're design challenged.

So when my husband and I purchased a vacation rental home, I signed up for a half-day consultation with Hearth + Home. Left to my own devices, I knew I’d fill it with a hodge podge of furnishings and decor that didn’t form a cohesive palette, which wouldn’t be as pleasing to our guests.

Courtney and Amber (her lead designer) met me at the home first. They were warm and friendly, and it was amazing to watch their minds work as they walked through each room, giving me countless suggestions that I would have never thought of myself. But the real magic came a few days later in the form of a PDF file with design boards of furnishings, paint color and decor suggestions for each room, even including the bathrooms and hall! I was blown away by how beautiful everything looked on paper, and I knew it would make the house a showcase in reality.

My tight, pesky budget did not allow me to purchase every item they recommended, but Courtney was patient with my questions in our followup correspondence. She even helped me choose between a few less expensive alternatives I found. I found it helpful to upload photos of the alternate pieces I found into a Canva file for Courtney to review and comment on, versus just sending her links to the products.

I cannot say enough good things about the entire experience. It is money well spent and incredibly affordable for the value of what’s returned.
