I live in DC and have been around the block with colorists. A chance encounter with Matthew while visiting my sister in Apex last year has me hooked. His talent is unmatched and as someone who will drive 5 hours to have him do my hair, I can say with conviction that he is the BEST at what he does! I love that he’s no pressure/no judgement and if you’re someone who can’t get your hair done every 6-8 weeks, he’ll give you exactly what you need to last and grow out naturally. His demeanor as well as his studio is very relaxed and comfortable. If you’re reading this review because you’re searching for an amazing stylist/colorist, do yourself a solid and book him!

Old post: I’ve been coming to Adela’s for many years now. I’m thankful I found Flora because she has done wonders on my dark hair to be the long thick beautiful dimensional blonde it is now. My hair typically takes about four hours or more to complete so over the many years and countless hours to process my hair, I have witnessed several situations with complicated customers. Anyone who claims Flora or Jenny to be rude, aren’t reliable sources. These ladies work so hard to please people and never once have I heard anything negative from them nor ever even raise their voice! Some people you just can’t please no matter how hard you try AND some people just don’t listen and expect the unrealistic to happen. After experiencing a situation where a dark haired lady wanted to go blonde, I just had to write my peace. She was explained brown hair can not go blonde in one sitting but she moved forward with color anyway. The hair stylist kindly processed her hair, but the lady was very upset about the color. Clearly she wasn’t listening and had unrealistic expectations. So ladies I’m here to tell you from one dark haired lady to another… if you want to go light blonde, expect a LONG several processes to get it to right color with out loosing all your hair! Don’t blame the hair stylists for your unrealistic expectations and most certainly don’t ask for a refund if you can’t listen!

Now I will say the recent negative reviews pertaining to a “bald” gentleman are sad but true. He’s new to the salon and was needed for help. It’s so difficult to find good help these days though… let’s hope he has learned from his negative reviews. If you stick with Flora and/or Jenny, just be patient as they are trying to make every customer happy…and they will take great care of you too!“

“Everyone who works there has been kind and mannerly every time I’ve been there. They all have been welcoming and answered every question I have asked and I have heard asked by others. It is very frustrating to read other reviews about this salon that are less than 5star because over the years, I’ve come here I have never seen bad treatment of clients or been treated badly myself. Always consider that there is another side to the story when a review is from a complainer. Connie has always done a great job for me and has never let me down.“

“I have visited several Great Clips in my lifetime and by far this is THE BEST Great Clips I have ever went to. I LOVE ANGELA so much!!!! She is so talented in her profession, so kind and patient and she really knows how to make her clients feel special :) She did a complete transformation on my hair (went from mid-back length to a Pixie style) and it was amazing. I just went back to get a trim and I love it more this time than the first time LOL. I have received so many compliments. I am partial to Angela but she is not the only talented one there - I have watched several ladies cutting hair while I have been there and I can tell all of them are talented. Thankful to have a salon to go to that I feel welcomed, the talent is there, it doesn't break the bank to get a good hair cut, and the stylists are just amazing and kind. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
