“The weekend after Christmas 2025 and our 4 year old Cavapoo, Duncan, suddenly became very lethargic, was vomiting and not able to poop. We tried to get him to eat a bit of rice and chicken but no luck getting him to eat or drink. We called Dr. Edgren at home, explained the situation and although he himself was ill and was on holiday he agreed to meet us the next day at the clinic. After almost 2 hours of examining Duncan, taking X-rays, giving Duncan an antibiotic shot and doing IV hydration we took Duncan home, hoping for improvement. At first we thought the X-rays showed a stomach blockage but when Duncan didn’t respond, we were back the next day for 2 more hours of X-rays, hydration IVs, different antibiotic injection and bloodwork. Duncan was having bloody/mucous stools and the X-rays showed a different pattern from the previous day. The diagnosis was E-coli from perhaps picking up something off the ground when being walked. By that 2nd evening, Duncan began improving by eating. We were SO grateful for Dr. Edgren’s willingness to care for our dog, especially when he was on holiday and ill himself. We’ll never forget his kindness. We recommend Big Sky Animal Clinic 100%.
