Madelyn did a beautiful job on my mother‘s obituary and answered all of my questions regardless if I felt like they were silly questions or not. When there is a death in the family, most people aren’t prepared for everything that needs to get done. I know I wasn’t.

“I’ve been to more than my fair share of funerals, and I have to say—my experience at Chapel Hill Memorial Service (soon to be Lupton–Millard Chapel) was truly exceptional.

From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive. Doors were opened, guidance was offered, and there was always someone available—whether it was directing me to the guest book, helping me find the family, or answering questions with genuine kindness.

What stood out most was the tone of the staff. There was no sense of obligation or burnout—just people who seemed to genuinely care about being there and supporting others during a difficult time.

“This place has been in business as long as I can remember. Here, I've buried and attended numerous family and friends final resting place. Frankly, I don't think you could find a better place in St Louis to say your last farewells to your loved one. They have ample parking spots, and the location couldn't be better. The staff have always been helpful, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the whole process of burying a loved one. Including, dealing with the insurance and benefit companies. I would highly recommend saying your last goodbyes to your loved ones here.“

“I have had such wonderful interactions with Sunset. I was surprised by the low review.
My family were also concerned about the the low soil level immediately after burial. I came to understand this was part of the settling process to ensure a headstone (which is a considerable weight) would not sink or tilt. And ours has not moved at all.
It can be such a foreign and difficult process at a sensitive time
The majority of the landscaping/maintenance staff have considerable tenure and are wonderful. And yes, my mom has always maintained/trimmed a little extra for a personal touch.
We've been going there 60+ years. I love the history and the wonderful stories behind its many features.

“Edit: the cemetery grounds are open until 5pm everyday. Very reasonable for first shifters and sporadic shifters to access.*

I love how well maintained the headstones and fields are, but the hours, sorry, suck. It's open basically during business hours when most people work and only open until 12 on Saturday doesn't feel like enough for when most are off. Closed on Sunday seems upsetting as I'm sure most would like to visit during that day. As far as me, coming from an hour out, I can't always make it during the week during those hours, and cutting it close on Saturdays.“
