“Having our deck built by Shanahan Building and Remodeling was a wonderful experience for my wife and I. We had a big project and wanted to find a contractor we felt had our best interests in mind - Chris Shanahan was that guy. Chris helped us through each stage - he sketched a few designs, answered a lot of questions, gave us feedback on materials we were thinking about using, and was nice enough to provide a quote for each configuration we considered (more than one). Chris and his crew were professional every time they came over to work on the deck...they even cleaned up every day...never leaving nails, boards, or trash around. The overall deck experience was so good that my wife and I wanted Chris to install our new window and sliding glass door, which he was happy to do. And, that was another good experience. All in all - we feel like Shanahan Building and Remodeling was worth every penny we spent. We're happy with all the installations they did for us. “My kitchen sink drain plugged up and my attempts to unplug it were unsuccessful. So I called my heating/cooling contractor (Tonna Mechanical) and they immediately recommended Rochester Drain-Rite without my even asking for a recommendation. I called RDR and they gave me a same day appointment. The technician arrived on time after sending me a text stating that he was on his way. I showed him the situation and he brought in his electric powered snake and sent it in 50 ft. Surprisingly it didn't unplug the drain. So he next connected a water hose to the nearby wash tub and inserted the other end (with some sort of gadget attached) into the drain pipe and then turned on the tub faucet to pressurize the drain line. After a short time a noticeable pop was heard and the drain was then determined to be now clear. He and I then discussed the situation afterwards and it was determined that the cause of the plug was a bowl of rice that had been earlier send down the garbage disposal. The rice got wet and expanded in the drain pipe and completely plugged it. The technician (Herald) was obviously knowledgeable and competent and did a professional job. He stated that rice (and sometimes egg shells) was the number one cause of plugs like mine. He also noticed that there was a slight leak in the drain piping under the sink which he also fixed by replacing some piping and seals. Before leaving he completely cleaned up the area. It was a job well done and I was happy with the result and was also happy with the fee that was charged. I had previously estimated to myself that it would be considerably higher than was it was.“
