When I was looking for flooring quotes, I found Dave on Yelp and Google. The reviews are mostly positive for a good reason. He does an excellent job with various styles of flooring, and he is more than happy to share his before/after photos with you as a client. He has photos and countless stories of every situation he's encountered, as well as how he has fixed it in the past. He is experienced enough to complete your flooring situation. I had major surface stains and damage to my floor that he treated perfectly without breaking the bank.

That being said, expect to spend time listening to past flooring stories and the way you should do your other projects. At first I thought it was him trying to sell me on how good he is as a handyman, but I genuinely think it’s because he cares so much about his work. He is a generous, hard working individual, and is motivated to do well if you treat him well. He will make your situation right and will not cheat you. However, you have to be willing to give him some leeway in other ways (i.e. using your utilities without asking, or using rooms in your property for equipment storage).

I had pretty bad stains from the last owners of the property, and I told Dave he didn’t need to make it look perfect, only good enough. Dave said he could get the worst out. He did just that. The before and after photos should show you how much nicer it looks now. There also were some nail holes that he expertly covered. Dave said he could have done more for the stains and nails, but it wasn’t necessary to me. It was truly professional of him to do the quarter round trim around the entire floor, prime it, and take off/put doors back on hinges. He ran out of time priming all of the quarter round in my case, but I had agreed upon that compromise. This brings me to my last point.

My last point is about timelines. Dave works on his own timeline that hopefully accommodates yours. In September of 2024 it was him and one other worker. I would STRONGLY recommend you get a solid, written contract on timelines. Otherwise, be flexible on how long your flooring can take. To his credit, I had called last minute to get something on the books. However, the initial estimate of a week slowly tripled into three weeks after Dave got more work elsewhere.

Dave is a professional and I will use his services again when I get another property. He did me right and made my floors in my ranch style house look fantastic. I have a great floor now thanks to Dave and I will be happy to see it for years to come.“
