Today was my first class with my husband. This was our first time ever doing yoga. I was so nervous, but that soon ended after only being there a few minutes. We didn't feel out of place at all. The ladies running the class were so welcoming and helpful. We signed up for classes with out thinking twice!

I am a former yoga teacher, business owner, and massage therapist, and quite aware when it comes to reviewing yoga studios. I was trained in the sutras -- that the physical practice, asana, is only one part of yoga. I also was trained to value proper alignment, injury prevention, compassion for the self, and honoring your "edge" -- not thinking about yoga as a simple fitness regime or in a way that stirs up anxiety or competition. Hilltop honors all of this in a way that gives everyone, every body type and age, a safe and welcome opportunity to explore the depth and joy of yoga and what it can bring in terms of health, community, personal growth, and an increased sense of connectedness with oneself. I've been so grateful for Hilltop Studio. While each teacher is different, unique, and extraordinary in their approach, the six teachers I have taken classes with have all said the right things in terms of keeping everyone safe and preventing injuries. They mix it up and keep it real and, in my humble opinion, have a fantastic spirit and soul about them that makes them one-of-a-kind. Hilltop has become a kind of second home to me, however often I am able to drop in... I feel home! Katy Joe, in particular, is a fantastic vinyasa teacher and brings so much knowledge, humor, support, and soul to her teaching style. Misty is an incredible teacher in terms of connecting students to greater awareness of their bodies and has a gift for breaking down the poses verbally so you can really study and improve your postures for greater and more fuller expression. Rachel brings aromatherapy into the studio and gives a warm, active practice that adapts to the class and is always engaging. Deb Hart is exceptionally in tune with her students, and has an energy that makes students feel supported, safe, and welcome. Hilaire has a wonderful fire and a rootedness to her teaching style, always weaving in deeper elements of practice. I could go on. Hilltop is by far the best yoga studio in Lansing. You won't regret it. It doesn't matter if you're new to yoga, what you look like, what you know, how you feel -- you'll be safe and supported and you will feel better with this studio supporting your practice!

Very nice venue. I came here from Minnesota to attend the Kino MacGregor workshop. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I come to Michigan ofton to visit friends and family. Next time in town I plan trying one of their regular classes.
