“If I could give Erick 10 stars, I would! I had the most fun and thorough makeup lesson in his gorgeous Victorian salon. I had a very dated look and had really never learned the proper way to apply makeup. I learned so much about how light and dark shades either attract the eye or create shadow. He also helped me understand more about which products are better for older skin. He helped me work with the products that I already owned but had plenty of other recommendations for other options. I felt so beautiful when I left and will start practicing so I can perfect the skills he taught me. ?“

“I’ve had two appointments with James for a haircut so far and it has been the best experience! He always makes me feel comfortable and makes sure the haircut is how I want it. I appreciate how this salon doesn’t ask for tips so I always know how much my haircut is going to cost coming into it, and it takes away some pressure that can come with tipping for a service. I always leave feeling like I got my money’s worth from the complementary drinks, scalp massages, great haircuts, and kind staff!“

“Genuinely love coming here to get my braids done. As a single mom of 3 it makes it a bit more attainable.

That said, the real reason I have enjoyed my braiding sessions is because the students help one another out, give each other constructive criticism and do a stellar job, the instructors are so good and float around to make sure everything is ok. The energy I have received from the students and faculty who have ended up braiding my hair is excitement and achievement and confidence. Love it.

Something to keep in mind is that for braids they are learning and growing. You can’t expect something from students that someone with 20 years of braiding experience can give you.
