About The Breakwater Inn
The Breakwater Inn & Spa offers a variety of experiences. The rooms are generally clean and spacious, with beautiful views of the river and beach. Guests have enjoyed the comfortable beds and the spacious porches where they can socialize. The attached restaurant serves good food, and the complementary bikes are very convenient for exploring the area. The location is excellent, within walking distance to Dock Square and Colony Beach, making it easy to explore nearby stores and restaurants. Although the property could use some updating, recent management is working on improvements. Service has been praised for being helpful and welcoming, contributing to a great stay. The inn also features a gym that is clean and well-equipped for workouts.
Newly renovated room (The innkeepers room). Slept like a baby and the view was great. Friendly staff and the restaurant downstairs was convenient. Short walk to colony beach and 20 min walk to dock square.
Our time spent at the Breakwater Inn was wonderful. Romeo, at the front desk, was extremely helpful when I called to make our reservation. Greg and all the other employees were also polite and helpful. The view was fantastic , and the newly renovated rooms were so nice. It is convenient to walk next door or across the street for food and drinks. Having access to the Adirondack chairs to enjoy the fabulous views was definitely a bonus.
My stay at the Breakwater Inn in Kennebunkport, Maine was nothing short of magical—especially in the winter. The entire area transforms into a peaceful coastal wonderland, with crisp ocean air, quiet snowy landscapes, and breathtaking views that feel almost untouched. It’s the perfect place to slow down and truly relax.
