“At a recent exam with my PCP, I was asked when my last eye exam was. After thinking about it, I realized it was nearly 8 years ago. Despite feeling like I had no issues with my vision, I realized that given I pay for this insurance coverage (and have for the past nearly 6 years) I might as well go to make sure there are no concerns. I looked at my insurance and found Maine Family Eye Care as an in-network provider and in close proximity to my residence. I requested an appointment online and received a phone call a couple business days later to set up an appointment. Luckily, I was able to get an appointment the following day which was extremely convenient. The location itself is super cute and modern. It has a nice bright, open space which is very welcoming. As I walked into the office, I was kindly greeted by the receptionist who happily checked me in and walked me through the paperwork that I had to complete. After completing my paperwork, I was almost instantly called into the back. The woman who took me back assisted in performing a variety of tests which were to be provided to the doctor. The woman was extremely kind and made feel very comfortable and educated about the tests she was performing. After completing several tests, she brought me back to the waiting room to wait for the doctor as they were running behind on this specific day. I was in the waiting room for about another 15 minutes before being brought back to see the doctor. Dr. Elkinson was awesome. He was extremely friendly like the rest of his staff and provided me with a lot of education and tips to help ensure continued good vision in my future. Through my evaluation with the doctor I found out that I had exceptional (20/15) vision. After my evaluation, I had my eyes dilated and was sent back to the waiting room while the solution "did its thing". Unfortunately, my left eye was supper stubborn and required several drops which lengthened my waiting and stay. However, once it finally dilated, I saw Dr. Elkinson one last time and then was sent on my way. Given my exceptional vision, I was told that I probably don't have to come back for another 2-3 years! However, if I ever have any vision issues I will certainly be coming back to Mr. Elkinson as his staff and service was fantastic.“

“Younger optometrist is patient with you, and is willing to hear your answers. “ better or worst?… oh it’s similar? Well how’s the character of the letter? Bold or slightly slim?” Older one just “better or worst… okay better or worst.” Then the lady ( I’m sorry I forgot you name) that use to work on creating the actual prescription is willing to help you understand why your last prescription didn’t work. “Well based off your eyes, yes I could sell you this, but it’ll make a haze, and blah blah blah.” She was absolutely amazing!!“

“This is best place I have found locally to have eye exams and purchase contact lenses! I was down to my last pair of contacts and one needed replacement immediately. I was able to order a new box no problem and I was even offered a "trial pair" of contacts to get me by until my new box arrived! Very helpful! The optometrist that works here is great to work with! The facility looks new, clean, spacious, and professional. The only real complaint I might have is that the parking lot can be difficult to navigate. Other than that, 5 stars all around!PS: WE LOVE WILBER THE WAITING AREA DOG!!! ?“
