A few years ago my now ex took me to Northern Light all the way from Bucksport because I couldn't breathe (I have history of asthma) to the point my lips were blue. Triage nurse in a wheelchair put a device on my finger and said my oxygen was 99% so it was probably just anxiety. After waiting most of the night they listened to my lungs, did blood work and took x-rays of my chest telling me I was just having anxiety and discharged me. After almost dying from an asthma attack a month later, I went to Saint Joe's where they actually took me seriously and I stayed for three days where my breathing got better. I was admitted for a knee injury and quickly processed and set up in an exam room although it was first thing in the morning and the full staff wasn't in yet. This hospital is fairly but so easy to get to, with plenty of parking and helpful signage. My husband's been treated here as well and has been very satisfied with the care.
From the moment I got to the ER everyone was attentive and very kind. I spent the night and the nurses and MAs couldn't have been better. I felt cared for by a professional staff who had compassion!
