Aubrey not only has a sensational eye, but she cares about my idiosyncrasies, reviewing the cut after each step, making sure it’s balanced, checking after it’s dry. “I had a cut and color that I didn’t care for at a different salon. I then tried to “fix” it by putting a color depositing mask over it. I didn’t like that either. ?Enter Donnie.I was able to get an appointment very fast. He did a test strip to make sure of the best way to lift the color. He was open that it would be a two appointment process to completely get rid of the fashion color. He was able to blend in what was left of that color with what he did. I’m amazed at what he was able to accomplish. He then gave me the perfect hair cut. Also, VERY reasonably priced.Pictures to come later.“

“Nicole was clearly very experienced and knowledgeable.I know nothing about hair, what is or isn’t possible, what will look good, etc. My hair is naturally a medium brown & I told Nicole I wanted to go as blonde as possible while being able to let it grow out & not have to get my hair done often - which I feel like is a bit of an oxymoron because going super blonde needs more maintenance. I also wanted very very cool in tone, even slightly purple. Nicole was able to understand what I was hoping for & use her professional knowledge & experience to come up with a solution that goes for what I’m hoping for while giving me something that looks good & natural. She did thin highlights on top to keep it natural & low maintenance while adding bigger highlights underneath to give more blonde with any chunkiness staying hidden. And she was able to achieve the tone I was going for - very very cool & almost purple.She was able to schedule me for just a tone for next time - which will be cost effective & quick while maintaining the tone I like. That’s very helpful because I procrastinate scheduling appointments & I never would’ve thought myself to just come in for a tone.Nicole was also very nice & easy to talk to. I wanted a new colorist for a while & was dreading the awkwardness of spending that much time with someone new, but Nicole was very personable, genuine, & not awkward.“

“I took my twin daughters to Define Hair for their 16th birthday. Neither of them had ever colored their hair, and they both wanted to go blonde without having to maintain color every couple of weeks. I choose Define Hair because of my own personal experience with the salon. My hair is a very similar color to my daughters’ and the highlights are done in such a natural way that I can go up to a year between highlights.From the moment we entered the salon my daughters and I were treated as part of the team. We met the stylists, Courtney and Bekah, and had a lengthy conversation about what exactly we were hoping to achieve, how often we would be able to maintain the color, and ways to prevent damage to their natural hair. Prices were all discussed before they started and all questions were thoroughly answered.The process took time, and as we waited the staff was professional and friendly offering all of us drinks, coffee, snacks etc.After a few hours in the chair, both of my girls were blown away with their results. To say that Courtney and Bekah nailed it would be an understatement!It has been a few months now and their hair is still as vibrant and smooth as it looked the day they got it done. It is growing out perfectly with no harsh lines or dulling colors.I highly recommend this salon, especially if you have teens who want a natural look that will last!“

I wish I came here first when I got my hair braided a few weeks prior.I ended up bringing my daughter here about a month ago and it was the best decision I could've made for her. She was ready for my daughter right on the dot for her appointment time and she went straight to prepping.Not only is Aminata sweet, respectful, gentle, professional, and quite fast I might add, but she makes you feel right at home as well. I couldn't have asked for a better stylist!When it came to picking out the colour for the braiding hair, I actually always go with either a #1B or #2 for my daughter, but as the professional Aminata is, she chose a #4 instead, which turned out to be a perfect match. I had no idea! It didn't stop there though. She not only asked for my opinion; she also made sure my daughter was comfortable with the choice as well. I've never seen a stylist ask an 11 year old for a second opinion. Aminata made my daughter feel significant and gave her confidence since she was the one sitting in Aminata's chair. That's EXTREMELY important to me, because my husband and I are raising our kids to know that they matter and they have a voice. We teach our children to speak up and she gave that opportunity to my daughter without me even saying one word about it.Although she's closed today (which made me remember to write a review in the first place), I plan to call tomorrow to book another appointment for my other daughter. I really hope she does locks because my husband wants to start going to her along with my son after hearing about my daughter's experience.This has nothing to do with her as a professional, but I have to speak about her character. We had a long conversation about countless topics. Within those conversations, I've concluded that Aminata has a heart of gold! She's sweet, understanding, patient, aspiring and inspiring, and has the best intentions for our children and humanity as a whole. She spoke with a passion you can't fake.In a world often characterized by its fast-paced nature and the pursuit of personal success, encountering someone with a heart of gold is like finding a rare gem amidst the hustle and bustle.
