“This was my first time at Modern Muse and it certainly won’t be my last. First of all, Kamaria was extremely kind and accommodating. I made a mistake and was running late for my appointment and she was flexible with me around her existing appointments.

When I arrived, the space was clean and beautiful and everything felt very sanitary - no clutter or disorganization.

I got three services: 30 minute express whitening, a medium sized tooth gem, and eyebrow shaping. I’ve never had my teeth h whitened nor have I ever gotten a tooth gem and Kamaria was extremely thorough. She explained each step of the process and made sure I was comfortable throughout. My only recommendation would be to ask questions before booking so that you can book the right thing for what you’re looking for. For me, I probably should have booked an hour for the whitening service but I booked first and asked questions later. Even with that she accommodated me, lightened my teeth by several shades and recommended that I return in four weeks (which I will). She also provided honest and professional advice on which size tooth gem I should get to match my style and preferences without being too over the top.

Once my teeth were done she moved on to brows. I’ve had a hard time finding someone to shape my brows the way I like for at least a decade. I didn’t have any photos, but I provided her with a verbal descriptions and she NAILED IT.

I am so pleased with this business and I will definitely be a repeat customer. She’s organized, on-time, and conveniently located right off the beltway. Five stars from start to finish!“

I barely had to say a word--Penny took a look at my eyes and immediately pinpointed all the issues I've struggled with for years (like how my lashes in the front get hidden because of my eyelids). Honestly I was shocked, as it took her seconds to notice things other places never pick up on unless I explicitly tell them. She walked me through a few options and suggested starting with a lash lift since it's more affordable and better for my everyday look. I was so impressed that she wasn't just trying to upsell me! When we did the extensions, Penny was super practiced and clearly knew how to work with my eye shape. I was already satisfied halfway through, but she has such high standards for herself and kept tweaking until it was absolutely perfect. The whole time I felt so reassured. The studio itself is adorable--clean, cozy, and peaceful--and the staff are all so friendly! Since I'm just visiting DC, they even gave me tips on fun spots to check out. “I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with SheShe Skincare's marvelous aesthetician, Margherita. I started dabbling in facials in 2019 and had so-so results, and the pandemic stopped everything. “This was my first time at the salon in Ft. Washington. When I walked in, I was greeted by the staff and asked who I was here to see. Ari was my stylist. She seemed kind but you could tell that she was bothered by having more than one client. Her other client asked her how long it would be and she just ignored her. I asked how often I should come to get my locs retwisted and she said she didn't know. I would have given this salon 5 stars if it weren't for her. She does a good job but needs to work on time management and try to answer questions to the best of her ability or ask another stylist. Mahogany saw that i had been waiting a bit to get the final touches done to my hair and stepped in to take the pins out, oil and do my edges. I will definitely return to the salon to get my hair done but I will not go back to Ari.“
