“Funeral service was great we highly recommend it, except the make up for my sister was way too dark. But don’t know if it was because of her purplish color. Other than that everything was professional ??“

“I was out and about on my route this morning and stumbled upon this beautiful cemetery. The entrance was so lovely against a gorgeous Baltimore day of blue skies. I'm not native to Maryland so I'm still discovering new things and this was so pretty!“

“Our 10yr old cat, Mollie, died suddenly yesterday and as a family we decided to go with cremation but this was our first time losing a pet; we were heartbroken and unsure of how to go about this. I reached out, via text, to Charm City Crematorium after merely reading the reviews. Not to be dishonest but the pricing is a little high compared to everyone else but with that said, the young woman who was everything to us today was absolutely amazing and deserves a raise… Rosie was a counselor, friend and honorary member of my family for the time I was there. Such a beautiful soul… worth every penny. I could’ve talked to her for hours. She also gives the best hugs. I promise I could go on… our Mollie is in empathetic, caring, loving hands and for the first time in a day and a half I feel a sense of peace and THAT is priceless. I’d give more stars if I could. Thank you, Rosie. Thank you.“

“Step back in time as you enter the gates of this historic cemetery, where the legacy of Baltimore's First Responders, the Mechanical Company, comes to life. Founded in 1763, this group of enterprising individuals, once known as "mechanicals," united to protect their community from the ravages of fire and British forces during pivotal moments in history.Wandering through the grounds, you'll find echoes of the past as you encounter tombstones dating back centuries. The brave members of the Ancient and Honorable Mechanical Company rest here, their stories etched into the very fabric of the cemetery. Imagine the bustling streets of early Baltimore, with cobblers, tailors, and ironmongers banding together to form a vital network of defense. As you stroll through this hallowed ground, consider the pivotal role the Mechanical Company played during the Battle of Baltimore in 1814. Hezekiah Niles, a member of the company and future president, chronicled the city's triumph in the face of British aggression. It was within this town that the seeds of "The Star-Spangled Banner" were printed, a song that still echoes through time. The cemetery stands as a tribute to the unwavering dedication of these early responders. From its inception in 1763 to its transformation into an annual commemoration, the Mechanical Company safeguarded businesses and homes, fostering a sense of unity that transcended generations. Witness the growth of a small town into a thriving city as you learn about the company's evolution, from its humble beginnings when the population was just 2500.As the city's fire protection responsibilities shifted, the Mechanical Company's flame continued to burn. Annual banquets and remembrances kept their legacy alive, and their commitment to community was exemplified by their donation to the Boys Home in 1874. Explore the stories of apprentices turned brave firefighters, echoing the spirit of those Boys of the Mechanical from years past. This cemetery is a testament to more than just history; it's a living connection to the heart of Baltimore's heritage. You can almost hear the clang of leather buckets and the rhythmic pumping of the "Little Dutchman," the iconic fire engine that set the standard for protection. Contemplate the intertwining of civic duty and commerce as you stand amidst the very streets where printers, publishers, and firefighters once thrived side by side.Soak in the rich narrative of Baltimore's early days as you walk around this beautiful cemetery. I’ve chosen to pay homage to the Mechanical Company and its pioneers. As you leave, though, make sure to carry with you a piece of their legacy, a reminder that the echoes of the past continue to shape the present and inspire the future.“

“I want to thank Hari P Close Funeral Service, P.A. for helping us through this process and accepting our personalized request to play the blues during his service. A’lan and the staff did an AMAZING job from start to finish! My grandfather was well taken care of. A’lan listened to us and followed all of our wishes. He groomed my grandfather so well, moisturized his skin, and put a smile on his face. He handled formatting the obituary for us and doubled checked with us prior to printing the final product. They offered many service options at an AFFORDABLE price. I would highly recommend this funeral home for anyone who is looking for a small service at the funeral home or for anyone who already has a venue for the service but is in need of a funeral home to handle everything else. Thanks to the Close family and employees for helping us during this difficult time.Side note: I saw a comment that said their family member’s names were misspelled and there was some other misspelling/incorrect dates. I don’t know how they experienced that because for us we were the ones to create the obituary and send it to funeral home. A’lan asked us several times to proofread our own writing and make any necessary changes before printed the final product. I’m not sure how any mistakes could have happened if the people writing it proofread their own writing and approved printing.“

“I cannot begin to say how caring, attentive and professional John, Sydney and staff were. They made a devastating loss less stressful by listening and taking their time to make sure everything we needed was addressed. I had never had to make arrangements before and they walked me through each step with complete patience. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The family of Virginia Pressell.“

“We loved the way you all worked with my brother, it looked awesome. The only problem we had is the driver of our limousine, we was told we would be picked up at 11:00 and was under impression that we would be driven to my niece house to follow the hearse to the funeral home. When the driver arrived at 11:00 he said he would be pulling off at 11:35 being that we was talking and everything we didn't think much about it, he went and sat in the limo until 11:35, then when he came to get us into the limo, there was no suggestion of prayers of any kind, we had to stop him so we can say prayers. Once he pulled off he was driving fine but I realize we was not going to my niece house well he took us straight to the funeral home which made my family including my mother and my father missed walking into the funeral home with their deceased son. This is not the traditionally way we are use to walking into a funeral, we thought we would be walking in behind my brother casket, which we was not able to do because they was already inside when we got there. Now we have to sit on the opposite side of the room away from my sister-in-law and family. Now when we left the cemetery it got worse. He went another way from going to the cemetery and there was a lot of winding roads which he was driving like he was in a race. I said to my aunt he is going really fast, and she said, "ok, I thought it was just me thinking that". You had to hold onto the door handle and everything. He proceeded to bypass people and was looking at them as if it was funny he went through red lights as if you was still in the funeral line. I just think he would need more training in etiquette of a funeral.“
