“I visited Deware Funeral Home twice and first met with Joseph to draft an initial plan for funeral pre-arrangements, and then with Sara and Dan in order to finalize and purchase said funeral pre-arrangements. I had no prior experience making any type of funeral arrangements but I feel that I made an excellent choice in going with Deware. I chose to do these pre-arrangements in order to hopefully lessen the burden and stress levels when the time comes for perhaps myself and those who follow me. All of these individuals at Deware listened to my needs and wishes and exhibited the utmost in professionalism and knowledge to guide me thru the process and to provide me with the best plan based on those needs. “It’s been well over a year since we had my moms service but Lisa and her team are often on my mind all these days later.I spent many hours dreading the moment when I would have to sit in a funeral home and put my mothers body to rest. Lisa was equal parts authentic and empathetic. She made the process so much easier than we anticipated. There was not the cloak of death feeling that you get in other funeral homes. Nor did Lisa treat or speak to us in that way…. You know the one. The way that people treat you after you’ve lost someone who is monumental in your life. They’re almost TOO careful with you? Like you’re a porcelain doll? That wasn’t Lisa. In fact, she somehow made picking out urns and prayer cards an experience that was at times humorous and far from the agony that we had anticipated.I’ve been to wakes and funerals before. And I had obviously assumed that my mothers would be the most difficult of them all to get through. It was a day that I was sure would be traumatic. But I can honestly say that it was the most beautiful, positive and celebratory ending to a life that I’ve ever attended. And there’s no doubt that Lisa and everyone else at Waitt was responsible for that. Instead of leaving a mark of trauma on us, the folks at Waitt made us feel that moms life was truly honored. Not with a sense of sadness and morbidity. But with love and hope and dignity.I’ve meant to send a card a million times to tell you how much our family loved and appreciated the service you gave mom. Thank you so much for the beautiful celebration of her life that you choreographed and your keen and unique sensibilities. Mom would have been as impressed as we were ❤️“

“We had a very bad experience with a local funeral director a couple of years back so when we had another death in the family recently, a close friend recommended I call Downing Cottage Chapel. I am so glad that I did. They are kind, caring, and compassionate and so down to earth and easy to talk to. I wouldn't use anyone else but Downing Cottage again. They made a difficult time so much easier and more bearable for us. Everything was perfect and the funeral went off without a hitch. They set up chairs for us at the cemetery which is something our last funeral director said they didn't do and that it was up to the cemetery to do. Also, there no rushing you out of the church or out of the cemetery with these people as was the case with our last funeral director. No excuses with these people for anything we asked for. I'd give ten stars if I could. They're truly a class act all the way. Thank you, Fred and staff, so very much from the bottom of my heart and on behalf of our entire family.“

“The directors were very helpful and attentive. Overall, it is very spacious and clean. I don’t regret choosing the funeral home. I gave them 4 instead of 5 because there is room for improvement. First, the staff during calling hours did not have answers to some of our questions. When I asked him for more tissue boxes he said he will get one but they are running short on tissue paper. That is one supply that you should never tell someone you are running low on. I would have liked if all the prayer cards were laminated without me requesting it after the service. Overall, it’s a good funeral home.“
