“I had my hair and make up done at ZenaRose for my bachelorette party. The salon is tucked away in Beacon Hill and offers many services. I absolutely loved my hair and make up done by Anastasia. She did a fantastic job listening to what I wanted and making my vision come to life. I deducted one star because my appointment was for Event/Glam Photoshoot Make Up and Dyson Bouncy Curl Blow Out, but I didn't end up getting a blow out. She styled my hair with a flat iron but I was still charged for a bouncy curl blow out which I didn't feel was the same value. Other than that, I was very happy with my experience.“

“Curl bar has changed the way I feel about my hair and made my daily routine manageable. I got relaxers starting age 5 for 25 more years. When I got tired of the chemicals, growing my hair out was a tough process. I couldn’t keep up with any routines as a busy surgeon and mom so it was mostly buns and not the cute kind. I started going to curlbar 4 years ago and Taylor gave me a routine I can manage. With 2 hours a week on wash day, I feel great about my curls all week and spend about 2 mins a morning on hair. “I had a really good experience at this salon! My braids came out great -- they're very neat and the sizing is consistent. The attached photos are from the next day because I had to rush out after my appointment.

Beyond the quality work, my braider was very friendly and patient with me (e.g., it took me a while to decide whether I wanted a middle or side-part but she didn't get frustrated with me; she worked with me to find a curl pattern that would work with the extensions I bought).

Additionally, the salon owner is a woman of integrity. My braider accidentally told me the wrong price for the hairstyle ($180). Later, the salon owner informed me the actual price is $220 but still only charged me $180 because that's the price that was given to me and that I initially agreed with.

Before coming to the salon, I was nervous because the owner said they do not guarantee a price before the appointment. But that's because they like to do a test braid for clients to make sure they understand the size and length the client wants. Then based off of that information, they tell you the price. Although this was not something I needed to do, I'm sure you can work with them to adjust the style to fit your budget needs!

One recommendation if you go is to bring cash. They accept zelle sometimes, but cash is the preferred payment method.“

“Maricruz is the BEST of the best! During my trial she was able to quickly maneuver through the multiple styles I was choosing between. She had great expert advice for the best styles to hold up in the August heat and humidity (and thank god she did because it ended up being 90 degrees with 60-80% humidity while we took photos/had the ceremony all outside on our wedding day)! She recommended extensions but did not force the purchase on me or affiliate herself with any brand - she was truly just recommending what the best products were to work with! I was so happy with how my hair turned out and with how well it held up! When I finally got back to my hotel room at 3 am my hair still looked FANTASTIC - and I was hard on my hair with 4+ hours outside in the heat and humidity, hitting the driving range at cocktail hour, dancing the night away and closing out the downtown bars.
