“I've been going to Priscilla, the owner, for 14 years, since I moved to the Needham area. Prior to that time, I always had trouble managing my hair. One side would always "whip" out in the wrong direction. Priscilla gives me such a good cut that styling takes almost no time, with no more misbehaving hair. After wearing a bob of various lengths, I ventured to a shorter, layered cut which I love. Beth has done my hair on a couple of occasions when Priscilla was unavailable, and I've always been pleased. “If I could give Effie more than 5 stars, I would! My beauty journey with Effie started at the tail end of the COVID pandemic, after months of coloring my own hair (badly) in an "interesting" shade of red/auburn. She was so lovely and welcoming, truly listened to me, and immediately suggested shifting to a "chocolate with caramel highlights" look, which sounded not only delicious but beautiful. Though it would take a long time to finally eradicate the red, the immediate result was striking and my hair felt healthy and looked super shiny. With infinite expertise and artistry, Effie shepherded me on my journey to longer, blonder hair, culminating in a gorgeous and glamorous look. She truly takes her time with each client to consult, listen, provide new ideas and then bring them to life so that you look and feel as beautiful as can be. Effie's artistic abilities are matched by her warm, positive and nurturing nature so that, while you're in The Beauty Room, you feel truly pampered and seen. Recently Effie showed me a beautiful reverse balayage she had done on another formerly blondish client, rendering her hair a stunning, silky dark brunette. “When I moved in with my fiancee three years ago, I needed to find new/local alternatives for many things, including a barber. After several failed attempts to find something that satisfied me, my fiancee suggested I come with her to her hair salon. I'm glad I did. She's been going to Salon Di Carlo for years. She observed that besides many female clients, the lone male hairdresser, Rick, had many male customers, too. I've been getting haircuts from Rick at Salon Di Carlo for 3+ years. He's a great conversationalist and, more importantly, gives me an excellent haircut every time. I have fine hair and a goatee. Over the years, I've heard, "Giving you a good haircut is tricky," numerous times. And I've had many bad haircuts as a result. Not so with Rick. He's a real pro. Salon Di Carlo is conveniently located in downtown Needham and has ample parking. The place is clean and neat, and all the employees I've encountered are great. Is it more expensive to get a men's haircut at a salon? Sure. But it's worth it when you get a great cut every time and like the person doing it.“
