C & S Lumber Co. is a family-owned business noted for its very friendly and amazing staff, offering excellent customer service. The business provides a range of products including basic hardwoods like poplar, maple, and cherry, as well as wood pellets and odd-dimensioned marine plywood. Customers appreciate the ability to buy single boards or whole pallets. While some find prices higher than larger chains and note occasional lesser quality items like scarred studs, many value the support for a local business. The service is described as fast, easy to work with, and reasonably priced, with reliable delivery. Many contractors and woodworkers consider it the best around.
Very friendly staff here, more expensive than Lowe’s but I like supporting family owned businesses. The 2x3 studs are about 20% more expensive vs Lowe’s which I don’t mind. But the studs I got from C&S are scarred up and lesser quality.
At the end of the day that doesn’t really matter but it seems they get a lower quality and sell it for more or it was just an unlucky shipment for them.
Every time I search for hardwood suppliers in my area, C and S pop up. So finally went to take a look. The gentleman took the time to show me around and explain what hardwoods they had and what they usually carry and get in stock. They have your basics hardwoods like, poplar, maple, and cherry. Unfortunately, there is no Walnut, but definitely some great wood for a woodworker.
You can buy one board here or a whole pallet. I've tried a few other places, and they literally will not sell only one or four boards. You have to order a whole pallet. So this was nice.

Would recommend to anyone. I dealt with Larry when I called. He was friendly and easy to deal with. Delivery guy was prompt and very friendly. He put lumber exactly where I needed it. Don’t bother with the big yards. These guys are great.
