I think the grounds could be better kept. I recently went to a funeral and the burial site in the Mattapan area. I couldn't help but compare. Where is the thick. green grass nicely mowed???

Today my family and I went to the Ukrainian section of Mt. Hope Cemetery as we do several times a year. We were quite disappointed at how shabby the area looked. There were lots of weeds, unmowed grass, a few pieces of paper and some empty bottles. On the other hand, since it was Memorial Day, the small flags were placed in those areas reserved for the military. The grass was cut, and everything else was as neat as a pin. Perhaps the landscapers who took such great care of THESE graves and areas, with heavy viewing on a day such as today, should pay closer attention to their work in those sections where foot travel isn't so extensive. My siblings and I made a trip from Florida not knowing where exactly our dad was buried. Prior to heading up here I had made contact with the office and at that time a lady was helpful and providing me with the information needed. So on July 5th we made our journey to Boston and at this time Paul Harris (cemetery foreman) was extremely helpful and took us right to the grave
