Taka is simply lacking the basic experience as a hairdresser, let alone being a stylist; he is a newby, in my opinion. People generally go to a Japanese hairstylist with the expectation of his/her knowledge of the Asian hair types and styles, and a Japanese hairstylist's competency and professionalism in general. (Being a Japanese hairstylist does carry certain market appeal, though there are many mediocre hairdressers too). And, in this case, Taka cannot meet such expectations. He is still learning on how to do even a simple haircut; a long way to be a real professional. For those expecting a good, professional cut from a Japanese hair stylist, you'll be disappointed.

I found it disgusting to let him treat my hair. Though I requested a trim of 1.5 inches, the stylist cut over 6 inches. The finished look was so unrecognizably disastrous that the he sent me away without charge, as he described ‘unsatisfied with the final appearance.' The entire experience was a scam and an insult to the profession, and his 'free' service can never compensate for the years of growth he destroyed.

It was NOT a pleasant experience: like some other negative reviews point out, the hairstylist seemed so hesitant and unconfident throughout the haircut, and took 1.5 hours to finish the job. He kept spraying water on my hair to the point that my hair was dripping wet, and it was quite uncomfortable because my hair was heavy and cold the whole time. His body was often too close to my head or my face while he was working on some details, but I think that's unnecessary and made me feel a little on edge. He also seemed to think that the haircut I was requesting was very challenging, and while the haircut he gave me doesn't look bad at first glance, the techniques he used are not good. As a result, the haircut made my hair look messier--my hair sticks out in weird places, and it's obvious that he used way too much layering. I also don't see why the ratings seem high, but I don't recommend, especially if you care a lot about the style of your haircut and how it grows out.

This guy is awesome super respectful, patient, and he’s absolutely adorable I got a Japanese perm and he made sure to ask all the questions that I expected. He even took some extra time to care for my hair to make sure it isn’t damaged. I’d definitely come back. Thank you so much Taka!

Went because reviews were good but did not get the haircut I asked for. Even though he reassured me when I asked, it turned out completely different and uneven. Hair cut also hurt. He is a nice person, but I would only go if you have a very simple cut in mind!
