I was referred by my hotel to go there. I called to confirm they were taking walkins & went. I was told a 30 min wait...OK no problem. I sat in the pedicure change after several mins...I started the massage. Finally someone came and turned on the water so I could soak. While being serviced, my tech got up to start water for a white couple who'd just walked in. Every black person was told 30 min wait & to come back. Next, another white woman came in & my tech stopped again to soak her nails. If there weren't multiple occurances...I would never say racism.
Do not patronize this place if you're black. Other than that...the service was average & I still left a tip.
I run a spa in the French quarter and in the past few years we stopped doing nails. One of my guests came in early hoping to get her nails done. I called everywhere and no one had availability. I heard about April from another hotel and I called. He said come now! My guest got an uber there. She came back for her hair appointment and said it was fantastic and it couldn’t have been better. Thank you for making my client happy before her appointment!!! Will send everyone there from now on!
April Nails might not be the cleanest or most visually appealing spot— but the service? Always top-tier. Vee consistently delivers flawless nails, every single time. I’m used to salons where you need an appointment, the ambiance is curated, and champagne or wine is part of the experience. But truthfully, I’ve often left those places frustrated, w| nails that didn’t match the price tag.
