After being told that we needed a new unit from a different company, my dad told me that he would like me to get a second opinion and he called Teche Heating and Cooling to come out and see what they thought. They were able to come out the same day and they had a very different diagnosis than the previous company. When they originally installed the unit they had it listed as needing 3 filters and we had no idea how to get the 3rd filter in because it was facing a wall and it didn’t make any sense. Yeah, apparently the secondary water pan got full of water because the first water pan’s drain got clogged, and the water check valve was triggered so they unclogged the drain and sucked up all the water in the pans. Also got around 1 pound of freon. Took about 30 minutes for them to come out here; and, maybe another 45 minutes to get the A/C working again. I was around 88 degrees in the house and it already is feeling so much cooler now. After this I asked them to sign me up for a yearly check.
