After being told that we needed a new unit from a different company, my dad told me that he would like me to get a second opinion and he called Teche Heating and Cooling to come out and see what they thought. They were able to come out the same day and they had a very different diagnosis than the previous company. When they originally installed the unit they had it listed as needing 3 filters and we had no idea how to get the 3rd filter in because it was facing a wall and it didn’t make any sense. After he had done some investigating, he came to the conclusion that it wasn’t getting enough airflow in the unit and he showed us where the third filter should have been and recommended that we cut out a hole in the wall to allow for more airflow. I was a bit nervous about it but it made sense due to how it was stated to needing the three filters. Low and beyond, I don’t need to stand on a chair to feel the air flowing out of the vents and can actually feel it from the floor. I don’t think I could have trusted someone who is telling me to put a hole in my wall without his thorough explanation of why he came to this conclusion. The unit is no longer freezing up, it’s not needing to run as much because of the increased amount of air flow from the vents and the amount of money that was saved by not replacing the entire unit, I can’t imagine ever calling anyone else to help us with our heating and cooling system. Highly recommend them for a trustworthy and reliable service for your heating and cooling needs.
